Phantom of Loneliness

Phantom of Loneliness is a series of glass sculptures. Inspired by a poem by Edith Södergran, the pieces reflect on the feeling of something being missing inside you. The final shape of the “eyes” are achieved by sucking air out of the glass, thus leaving every piece with a unique shape and character. Being deflated and as if something inside of me has been sucked out is a feeling I can sometimes relate to, and in a way this is my attempt to not completely deny those feelings but accept them and the fact that they also have shaped me to the being I currently am.
